The work of the Golden Swan in the Stormy Waters describes the unusual life of the tenth karmapa of Ceing Dorje - the head of the Kague school of Tibetan Buddhism, the second largest Dalai Lama after school. The book uses photos of paintings, statues and temples created and built by karmapa over the years of its activity. Rare of their own records of the tenth karmapa and the memories of his contemporaries - in particular, the fifth Dalai Lama are also given. The book also explains and describes in detail the features of that stormy historical period.
Author of this book Shamarp Rinpoche XIV (1952-2014), Mipham Chokyi Lodrao is a direct heir to the sixth shamarpa, a teacher of the tenth karmapa. Shamarpas, or "Tibetan lamas in the Red Crown", is the second largest line of enlightened reincarnations at the Kagyu school.
1957, when Shamaru Rinpoche was five years old, he was recognized as a rebirth of his Holiness the sixteenth Gyalva Karmap - the head of the Kague school. Already in India, 11-year-old Mipham Chersya Lodrao was elevated to the throne as a shamarp XIV. After many years of studying Buddhism in 1980, he began to spread the teachings of Buddha around the world. In 1996, Shamar Rinpoche founded the first Buddhist communities called the Bodhi path, now it is a network of meditation centers on all five continents.
Shamar Rinpoche is the author of several books in English and French. The Golden Swan in the Stormy Waters is the first of the works published in Russia
