Sergei Nikolaevich Sergeev-Tsensky (1875-1958) was a Russian and Soviet writer, and a laureate of the Stalin Prize for his epic novel "The Sevastopol Way". He was a monumental writer, who was compared by Gorky to Tolstoy, Gogol, and Dostoevsky.
The epic novel "The Sevastopol Way" is dedicated to the events of the Crimean War of 1853-1856. However, the book is not about the war, but about the people: Admiral Nakhimov and Russian sailors, General Gorchakov and the residents of Sevastopol, who selflessly defended their homeland. Sergeev-Tsensky immortalized their names and fates in his novel.
