This book is about the famous scientist, legendary TV presenter, outstanding propaganda of science, teacher, traveler Sergei Petrovich Kapitsa. The man of noble scientific origin is the son of P. L. Kapitsa, Academician, a member of the London Royal Society, the Nobel laureate, and the grandson of the outstanding Russian academician shipbuilder A. N. Krylova, Sergey Petrovich experienced exceptional success and deep disappointment in his life. When he was 30 years old, a microtron was created under his leadership - one of the most successful cyclic accelerators, but he was never elected even a member of the correspondent of the USSR Academy of Sciences. More than thirty-five years of life, he gave teaching to the MIPT - technical university of the highest level, from where from the late 1980s from Russia "exported about 80 percent of the best young technical minds. Becoming the most popular Soviet TV presenter, in 1990 he was expelled from television, and from the second half of 1980s, he had responded to the extremely negative impact of television broadcasting on people.
