These stories from the late 70s to 80s of the last century could have happened and did happen anywhere - in any city, courtyard, school, or pioneer camp. Throughout the vast Union, there were boys like Seryozhka who launched little ships in the streams running down the asphalt, chewed on tar balls, made and set fire to saltpeter paper, poured water from the balcony onto the heads of passersby, and shot slingshots at the neighbor's 'Moskvich' cars. The stories in this book are the author's personal memories, mixed with philosophical reflections on people, their lives, time, and era. Surprisingly, they are memories and reflections of many kids of that generation, who have now grown up and become more serious, but who were once mischievous inventors who loved adventures and knew how to find them, sometimes without even leaving home.
