A whole gallery of vivid images of contemporaries of the classic of English literature Jane Austen - noble and treacherous, reckless and cowardly, prim and trembling - appears on the pages of her works. Austen's first mature novel, "Sense and Sensibility," is about the fates of two sisters, the sensible Elinor and the passionate Marianne. The girls see the world differently: one listens to the voice of the heart, the other acts as reason dictates. Each of them fights for the opportunity to marry their beloved despite all circumstances. After all, both desperately want the same thing - love and happiness.
The book has been adapted into films several times. The movie "Sense and Sensibility" by Ang Lee starring Emma Thompson, Kate Winslet, and Hugh Grant in the leading roles won numerous international film awards, including an "Oscar".
