The book presents a hypothesis about the origin of nonverbal communication using symbolic signs. The author presents the material using examples of weaving artifacts, which are used as symbolic signs. As a result of analyzing extensive ethnographic material related to weaving, symbolic meanings of ropes and threads were identified and classified, which coincided in their meaning with the functions they perform in everyday life and labor technologies. Understanding the mystery of the origin of nonverbal signs and their symbolism is possible in cross-cultural studies. The book is intended for readers interested in the history and philosophy of culture.
