The work determines the volume and content of the concept of opposition - the idea of opposition as a phenomenon is not only purely syntactic: opposition - semantics, integrating the seeds of contrast, denial, concession and restrictions as a semantic dominant in this semantic unity. The principle has been formulated and methods of systematizing opposing means, the variant of their typology and the methodology for studying this symantic symantic, the specificity of which consists in its asymmetry: opposition is an asymmetric contrast with the movement of the center of contrast and a violation of balance, the balance of parts under the influence of the subject of view. The book is addressed primarily to philologists, but it will be interesting and useful to everyone who is interested in modern trends in the Russian language, since opposition as a meaning becomes an important part of the linguistic picture of the world of modern Russian man
