The book contains 450 tasks related to algebra, arithmetic and numbers theory. By their nature, these tasks are significantly different from standard school tasks. Most of them were offered in school mathematical circles at Moscow State University and at mathematical olympiads in Moscow.
The book is designed for high school students of secondary school. The tasks available to students in grades 7-8 are noted especially. Detailed solutions to all problems are given, more difficult tasks are provided with instructions.
The first edition - 1950. The real extended edition was reproduced according to the text of the fifth edition with the restoration of the fourth tasks, excluded in the fifth, but preserved in the sixth edition
