Chamber vocal music in the legacy of Richard Wagner (1813-1883) is represented very modestly. At the same time, the composer significantly renewed the Lied genre, symphonizing it and introducing operatic pathos. The most notable work in Wagner's legacy is a cycle set to the words of Mathilde Wesendonck, in which his musical-aesthetic principles are most vividly reflected. The collection also includes songs based on the poems of V. Hugo, H. Heine, and J. W. von Goethe. This collection is intended for vocal faculty students and professional performers.
