Hector Berlioz (1803-1869) is primarily known in the history of music as the author of symphonic works. However, a significant part of the legacy of the French composer consists of vocal and choral compositions. The genre of romance, which marks the beginning of Berlioz's early creative experiments, reflects the basic principles of his compositional thinking. The publication includes romances set to the texts of T. Gautier, V. Hugo, A. de Leuven, and E. Legouve. This collection is intended for students of music schools and creative universities, professional performers, and lovers of vocal music.
