Santiago Ramón y Cajal (1852–1934) was a great Spanish scientist, neurohistologist, researcher of brain structure, and Nobel Prize laureate. He was also known as a philosopher, writer, and popularizer of science. In a book translated from Spanish, the necessary conditions for conducting scientific work are presented in a didactic form, which a young researcher must create for themselves. The book outlines the requirements for the human qualities of a novice scientific worker. The book is a speech by Ramón y Cajal addressed to young people, and therefore is perceived as the living oral word of an outstanding scientist.
