For the first time, consideration of the issues of life safety and activities began with the system of national security of the Russian Federation and the influence of the socio-political state of society per person. Briefly presented issues of assessing human safety and the environment. We systematically set out data on emergency influences of a natural, technogenic and sociogenic nature, as well as measures to reduce damage from such impacts. A classification of emergency situations and engineering activities to eliminate their consequences are presented. The book is designed for university students and can be used by listeners and cadets of military universities of all specialties, as well as the headquarters of civil defense and the divisions of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. The monographs Safety of Life and Activities as part of the five books were assigned a quality mark of the Association of Independent Expertise Higher School of St. Petersburg
