Vladimir Bekhterev was an outstanding Russian and Soviet psychiatrist, neurologist, physiologist, the founder of reflexology in Russia, and an academician. He founded the Psychoneurological Institute in St. Petersburg - the world's first center for the scientific development of psychology, psychiatry, and neurology. Contemporary colleagues of academician Vladimir Bekhterev said that only two entities knew the anatomy of the brain - the Lord God and Bekhterev. He was the first to invade the inner sanctum of a person - their consciousness. He was able not only to heal from the most serious illnesses but also to control people through suggestion and hypnosis. Bekhterev conducted hundreds of unique hypnosis experiments, after which people miraculously revived and got rid of their harmful habits: alcoholism, smoking, drug addiction. He explained the mystery of illusions and hallucinations - from ghosts and stigmata to witches and UFOs. He understood how Christ healed hopelessly ill people. He exposed sectarians, predictors of "the end of the world," and magicians pretending to be clairvoyants. He analyzed why wars ignite and how leaders like Joan of Arc, Peter the Great, and Napoleon emerge. He researched the most fantastic phenomenon - telepathy.
