The CIA manages to uncover hidden positions of Soviet ballistic missiles. The KGB leadership is convinced: someone from our technical staff helped the Americans. Major Mikhail Koltsov's group is tasked with identifying the traitor. However, the beginning of the operation almost ended in failure. Two exposed agents directly involved in the case are killed by the hands of the killer. Sensing surveillance, one of the high-ranking military officials takes his own life. Koltsov himself narrowly escapes death in a confrontation with the suspect... Finally, the operatives manage to apprehend a valuable witness.
