Here is the first complete edition of all three volumes of unique notes of the French poet and memoirist Charles Massson, who was in Russia in the reign of Catherine II and Paul I. The new translation with comments was made by A. N. Pashchansky, a specialist in the history of Russia of the XVIII century. The notes contain bright portraits of various figures of the era, foreign policy and events of the inner life of Russia, sketches about the morals and habits of Russians.
