Sculptor Nikolai Shcherbakov. From Leninians to faith

Many talented sculptors in the USSR devoted their work to V.I. Lenin. Among the outstanding creators of Leninians are the wonderful Soviet sculptor Nikolai Andreevich Shcherbakov. He had a long, bright and interesting life, he left behind his inspired work and the good memory of those with whom he had to work or just communicate. Among his works are monuments and busts of A.S. Pushkin, N. Ostrovsky, 3. Kosmodemyanskaya, F. Castro, P. Stolypin, Socrates, as well as familiar to millions of Muscovites and guests of the capital of 14 bas -reliefs of the main lobby of the Krasnopresnenskaya metro station. In the last years of his life, the sculptor turned to the "eternal" theme, creating sculptures "blessing Seraphim of Sarov", a monument to St. Peter and Fevronia, etc.
