In the town of gold prospectors, lost among the mountains of New Mexico, a black prospector has been detained for attempting to extract mummified human remains. The investigation into the circumstances of the unknown person's death is entrusted to FBI special agent Corinne Svenson, who in turn seeks the help of archaeologist Nora Kelly.
