The second volume of this edition continues to introduce the reader to the works of the great German poet dedicated to the natural sciences. The published works of Goethe as a naturalist are divided into the following sections: 'General issues of natural science' (philosophy and history of science), 'Mineralogy and geology', 'Meteorology', and 'Materials for the study of sound' (theory and history of music, musical acoustics). Articles, lecture outlines, rough drafts, and fragments of the scientist's correspondence present his contribution to the history of philosophy and the mentioned specific disciplines, outlining the contours of his grand design of a universal morphology of nature. Goethe's reflections on the fate of the soul after death are published in the notes of the German writer I. Falke. The appendix includes articles by the German philosopher and scientist, the founder of anthroposophy R. Steiner (1861-1925), who justified the Goethean type of natural science, Goethe's phenomenological methods, and his research program. For geologists, meteorologists, musicologists, biologists, historians of science, philosophers, teachers, eurythmists, and a wide range of readers interested in scientific and philosophical worldviews. Many materials in Russian are being published for the first time. Compiled by Kazachkov S. V.
