The book offered to the reader, written by the laryngologist and phoniatrist F.F. Zasedatelev (1873-1940), contains an exposition of the scientific foundations of vocal production. The work discusses questions about the correct breathing of a singer, the functions of the larynx and resonators, and explores the problems of vocal physiology related to its production. Different vocal registers are considered, criteria for determining the character of a singer's voice are provided. In addition, a brief overview of the main vocal schools is presented, and the requirements for a vocal teacher are discussed.
The book is primarily intended for vocal educators, but will also be useful for physiologists and specialists in vocal cord and larynx diseases.
