Yuri Ivanovich Koptev - a scientist, a popularizer of science and technology, the oldest and constant author of the almanac "I want to know everything." Born in 1929. After graduating from the Leningrad Polytechnic Institute in 1954, he was sent to the Physics and Technical Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, where he went from a senior laboratory assistant to the head of the department. For the development of a new method of growing semiconductor crystals and the creation of devices for their processing and control was marked by gold, silver, bronze medals of the VDNH of the USSR. He gave lectures and conducted scientific work in Cuba, in Mexico, India, Japan. The author of scientific and cognitive books (including Radioglerod, 1976, "The Sun works for us", 1983), the compiler of the Cosmos collections, the author of many articles in the Almanac "Cosmos" and the Globus. Laureate of the Belyaev Prize, awarded the Yu.A. medal Gagarin
