Previous publications of the original of this book were published in 2000, 2005 and 2009. The third edition of the book, like the two previous ones, aims to convey to the reader the basic concepts and principles of medical statistics, which are widely used by foreign doctors and biologists. The book contains the necessary theoretical part, and also in an accessible form gives a practical description of how statistical methods can be used in real clinical studies. To master the stated material, the reader needs not only knowledge in mathematics in the volume of the school course. An understanding of the importance of statistical analysis methods as a reliable tool for evidence -based medicine that increases the economic efficiency of medical technologies is also required. The value of this book for medical science is also determined by the reform of domestic science in Russia, including the Higher School reform and the scientific certification system.
