The book discusses two central problems of economic theory - explaining prices for goods as a result of interaction in the markets of agents in conditions of private property economy and explaining the role of prices under the optimal state of the economy.
The theory of value presented in monograph meets the strictness of modern mathematics. In the center of analysis is the concept of a price system, or, more generally, a value of value determined in the space of goods. The axiomatic form of analysis, when the theory is logically completely separated from its interpretative aspects, is dictated by commitment to severity.
