The book "Transcaucasian Territory" was prepared by the German economist and traveler Baron von Hacsthausen based on notes made in 1843 during a trip in the Transcaucasia, the region that became part of the Russian Empire in the 1920s of the XIX century. On the journey, he was accompanied by an official ADERKAS, who freely mastered the Russian and German languages, and carefully protecting Hacstgauzen from all that “could give a foreigner to this, a reason for incorrect and inappropriate conclusions, which can easily come from ignorance of the customs and folk life of our Fatherland " .
