Tomorrow 3.0. Transaction costs and economics of joint use

The increased interest in the appearance and first “steps” of the economy of joint use is largely explained by the growing popularity of such mobile applications and services as Uber and Airbnb. Michael Manger analyzes these new trends and concludes that they are directly related to the fundamental concept of economic theory - transaction costs. For the first time in history, entrepreneurs have the opportunity to sell not so much reduction in production costs as a reduction in transaction costs. Manger believes that smartphones will play the most important role in the commercialization of excess capacities.
