The Foundations of Arithmetic

Readers are proposed to the book of Soviet mathematician I.T. Demidov (1909-1975), dedicated to the foundations of arithmetic --- the section of mathematics, which studies the numbers, their basic properties and the construction of various classes of numbers. In the first chapter, an axiomatic construction of many natural numbers was carried out and their main properties were studied. Based on many natural numbers, other numerical classes were built --- whole, rational, real and complex numbers.
The book is primarily intended for students of physical and mathematical faculties of pedagogical institutions, it will also be interesting to teachers of mathematics, high school students and participants in mathematical circles, and all fans of mathematics
