The textbook sets out the initial ideas about the thermodynamic critical point and the nature of the critical state of the substance. The physicochemical foundations of the use of sub- and supercritical fluid media in technological processes were discussed. The latest achievements in terms of possible applications of sub- and supercritical fluid states of the substance in the processes of food, pharmaceutical and perfumery, oil and oil refinery, chemical and light industries, in solving environmental problems and the disposal of industrial and household waste. An assessment of economic efficiency and the appropriateness of these processes is given.
