J. Philip Rashton was born in the UK in the city of Burnemourt on December 3, 1943 in the family of a construction contractor. Father was an Englishman, and mother is a Frenchwoman. At first, the family emigrated to South Africa, and later in Canada, where the future scientist studied in various schools. Then Rashton returned to England, studied psychology at the University of London since 1970, and in 1973 for work on altruism, children received the degree of philosophy in the London School of Economics. After that, he trained on this topic at the University of Oxford. Returning to Canada again, he studied at the University of York from 1974 to 1976, and until 1977 at the University of Toronto. Then he moved to the University of Western Ontario, where in 1985 he received the title of professor. In 1992, he was awarded the degree of a doctor of sociology at the University of London.
J. Philip Rashton is the author of more than 250 scientific articles and six monographs that are devoted to racial problems, the genetic nature of altruism, research of intelligence and the history of the development of science, primarily psychology.
He is a member of the American Association for the Development of Science, as well as a member of the Canadian Association of Psychologists. Since 1988 - Member of the John Simon Hugenheim Foundation. From 2002 to the present, he heads a pioneer fund.
The greatest glory of J.F. Rashton was brought by his scientific monograph "race, evolution and behavior" (1997), which has already withstood three reprints in English, one in German and one in Japanese. In addition, she was repeatedly reprinted in an abbreviated popularized form. Therefore, it can be said without exaggeration that today Professor Rashton is a famous and demanded academic specialist in racology.
