This book is written on the basis of courses on the theory of probabilities read by authors for many years to students of various specialties (including technical, pedagogical and economic) There are relatively many educational literature on probability theory. However, there is a need for small textbooks, where carefully selected theoretical material would be presented clearly, briefly, without excessive mathematical formalities. The authors tried to state the subject simply and clearly, not striving for complete mathematical severity. In addition to the theoretical part, the book includes a task, a rescue and a collection of control tasks
