The construction, study and use of orthonormated bases formed by elementary and special functions is considered. The method of converting Fourier and generalized functions are presented: delta-function, the function of the Hevisade, sign and rectangular functions, comb function. Ortonormated bases in the form of special functions of mathematical physics are solutions of homogeneous differential equations of generalized hypergeometric type. To solve them, the factorization method is used. Inhomogeneous equations are solved by Green"s functions. Examples of solutions to problems are given, problems for independent solution are offered. The publication is intended for students starting the study of disciplines related to theoretical physics and students in the areas of training included in the UGC: "Mathematics and Mechanics", "Physics and Astronomy", "Physical and Technology", and other physical and mathematical and the inner and technical areas of training and specialties, as well as for specialists who can use the publication as a reference manual
