The textbook is devoted to economic activity, which is complete without formal contracts and is not accountable to the state. Such an economy is regulated by traditions, social norms and informal agreements between its participants. The causes and patterns of the functioning of shadow and criminal activity, the home economy and the economy of inter -family exchanges of gifts are discussed. The material is presented in the most accessible form and gives an idea of the general approaches to the analysis of various segments of the informal economy, the history of cognition and methods for measuring this phenomenon.
