In recent years, the theory of graphs, being an important mathematical tool in such a variety of knowledge of knowledge as research, chemistry, sociology or genetics, has become an independent subject. The book of Robin Wilson is widely used as a textbook for bachelors in the specialties of mathematics, computer science and economics, as well as as an introduction into a subject for students of non -mathematical specialties.
Introductory chapters are a basic course containing definitions and examples. They consider the connectivity, the Alerovs and the Hamilton paths and cycles, as well as trees. The following are two chapters on plenary columns and the coloring of graphs with a separate consideration of the problem of four colors. The next chapter is devoted to the theory of transversal and connectedness with applications to network flows. The last chapter on the theory of sailors connects together the material of previous chapters. The application discusses algorithms and their effectiveness.
The text of this new edition was carefully revised, and some sections were reorganized and reserved. New material has been added, in particular related to evidence of the theorem about four colors, to strengthen rectangular frames and to algorithms. The number of exercises has been increased and more solutions are presented than before
