The textbook is intended to study the courses "Methods and means of information protection", "Fundamentals of Cryptography", other related disciplines of basic educational programs of higher education, for studying the disciplines on choices devoted to the foundations of cryptography and applied issues of the theory of numbers. The manual includes theoretical facts, exercises and tasks of various levels of complexity in all basic sections of cryptography and the corresponding sections of applied numbers theory. In addition to the extensive list of exercises and tasks, the manual presents individual tasks for creative and laboratory work, control issues and standard tasks of the mandatory minimum for each topic.
The manual was compiled in accordance with the requirements of federal state educational standards of higher education and approximate basic educational programs of higher education. The book is written on the basis of many years of experience in the practical work of the authors, its material is built on the modular principle: the choice of the studied sections, the order of acquaintance with them and the depth of the development of relevant theoretical and practical issues depend on the direction of training and the profile, within which training is carried out.
The manual is intended for teachers and students of higher educational institutions, primarily mathematical faculties of pedagogical universities, teachers of a profile school, high school students interested in applied theoretical and distribution problems, all who are attracted to history and modern trends in the development of cryptography. The materials of the manual can be useful for organizing individual educational and research work of students in the framework of the preparation of coursework, final qualification works of bachelors and master"s thesis.
