The course "biology of man" is one of the completing in the learning process. It is based on the basic knowledge gained by students in the process of studying the courses of zoology, morphology, comparative anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, genetics, psychology, the foundations of pedagogy, which are a basis for such a complex and multifaceted discipline. A person is considered from two equal parts explaining his dualistic nature: as an individual - a unit of species homo sapiens (class mammalia), which makes up its biological basis, and as a person (psychosocial being) - a representative of the human community (society), which makes up his social essence .
The textbook consists of three sections, including 15 chapters. In the first section, information on the basics of anthropology, the stages of anthropogenesis and modern demography are given. In the second section "biological foundations of man" sequentially, in the comparative and anatomical aspect, data on the ontogenesis, structure and function of somatic, visceral and integrating systems of organs are presented. In the third section "Social Essence of Man", the concepts of somatotype and psychotype, individual and personality, their interpenetration and interweaving, development and formation of personal properties and the influence of environmental and education conditions on them are given. The concepts of a harmonious and emphasized personality, individual, personal and public health and his connection with the quality of life are given, as well as recommendations for creating a healthy lifestyle and an active-positive attitude towards it.
The target audience of the textbook is, first of all, university students studying in the areas of training "Zootechnia" and "Biology". The material of the textbook is presented from evolutionary and comparative and anatomical positions, which allows us to recommend it for students of universities studying in the specialty of "Veterinary , the direction of training" Pedagogy "
