The book is the publication of facsimile, text and Russian translation of "brief history" - a Turkic -speaking essay on the history of Circassians, compiled in 1171/1757-1758. A certain al-Hajban for the Kabardian prince El-Mirza son Bek-Mirza (Bekovich-Cherkassky) The published text, quite known at the end of the XVIII - first half of the XIX century, was subsequently completely forgotten and opened again by one of the compilers. The study includes a description of the manuscript, the definition of authorship and the time of its creation, as well as an overview of the sources of essay and previous family paintings of the Kabardian princes preserved as part of Russian genealogies. For the first time in the scientific literature, an analysis of the early genealogies of the Kabardian princes was carried out, and the information contained in them was compared with reliably known historical characters and events
