The main set of tasks solved by an electrical engineer in the development and modernization of electrical equipment of metal-cutting machines is considered. General issues of the structure of machine electrical equipment are set out, its elemental base is presented, the methodology for designing electro -automation is given, typical algorithms, as well as control schemes for unregulated asynchronous electric drives are given. The procedure for the development of governing bodies is proposed, the features of the control of electric drives, the main movement and auxiliary drives were disclosed, and the algorithms of automatic change of tools and satellites of multioperational machine tools with CNC are given. The issues of two -channel management, diagnostics and technological programming are considered.
