Victor Kostetsky is one of the most original cultural philosophers in Russia, which is not difficult to verify by reading this book. In the article “Anti-Heying: Another Philosophy of Culture” for the magazine “Questions of Philosophy”, the author showed how significant such socio-cultural institutions as chivalry and harem, how significant are for the origin of dance, music and fairy tales, the attitude of courtesy, how bad the Dutch Culturologist J. Hayzing, who does not distinguish the game and foolishness, foolishness and creativity. Based on the stories of trans -rituals of primitive culture, on modern knowledge about the “altered states of consciousness”, on the psychology of creativity, the author creates a holistic method of cultural analysis, from the standpoint of which a new look at the problems of aesthetics and aesthetic education arises. Reading for many years a lecture on philosophy at the St. Petersburg State Conservatory and the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts, Professor V.V. Kostetsky had the opportunity to specifically pay attention to many topical, but intact, problems of aesthetic thought. The reader will find copyright solutions to many problems of aesthetics in this book
