The book proposed to the attention of the reader is the fourth of a series of fundamental monographs produced by the Institute of Economic Policy. E. T. Gaidara, which analyzes the entire almost 30-year period of post-communist development of the Russian economy. The previous three volumes, united by the general name "Economics of the transition period", were published in 1998, 2003 and 2008. This book discusses a stage that can be characterized by two key concepts - a global crisis and economic braking. These circumstances led to the choice of the name of this monograph, which defines the study period as a "turbulent decade, 2008-2018". The book analyzes the main problems of the economy and fundamentally important issues of the economic policy of 2008-2018, achievements, adaptive mechanisms, as well as the problems and risks of these years.
