Currently, science has become the main driving force and a necessary condition for technical, economic and socio-political development. Only the consistent use of scientific methods in improving social relations will allow mankind to maintain their existence and well -being on planet Earth.
The proposed book gives brief descriptions of the most significant and interesting events in the history of natural science and technology for the period from 1440 to 2010, presented in the form of the annals, where the information is systematized in generally accepted areas and areas. The material is divided into parts for each century. The most prominent figures of scientific and technological progress were also noted.
There are more than 12,000 events in the annals. In each part, the main text is preceded by a set of the main events of the century, which had the greatest influence on the further development of science and technology. In more detail, these main discoveries and achievements in the XV-XX centuries. Considered in the introduction. The epilogue presents a brief analysis of the influence of modern science and technology on the near future of world civilization in the context of the growing global environmental crisis of the Earth’s biosphere and the human population. In general, the book is reference and encyclopedic.
As applications, the book contains alphabetical lists of Nobel Prize laureates for natural sciences, as well as laureates of other scientific awards --- Awards of Kaphord, the Kavli Prize and the Kavli Prize, inclusive.
