The translation of the new (12th) publication of the famous and beloved textbook “Biology of Development” by M. Barres and S. Gilbert returns readers to the fundamental ideas of this rapidly developing interdisciplinary science: regeneration, morphumechanics, plant development and genetic development of development.
The publication has undergone a number of useful changes. Thus, the head of regeneration has been expanded, now it not only uniquely reflects the exciting problems of postambrune development, but also explains the logical basis of regeneration mechanisms due to the degree of regenerative ability of the body.
In addition to updating chapters on fertilization, crushing, early development of vertebral, cell differentiation and cell interactions in the development process, information on plant biology in those that are devoted to the cellular specifications, regulation of genes, cellular communication, and the production of gametes , fertilization, determination of the axes, the formation of organs and regeneration. A new material is presented about the morphomechanics of development during gastrolation in Drusophila and the formation of light mammals. Particular attention was paid to the wider use of the full -genome, transcription approaches that bring our understanding of the differentiation of cells to a new level.
A section entitled “Developing a topic” has been introduced, which focuses on some of the most difficult ideas in this area.
The book is perfectly illustrated and structured and will become a guide to a dense network of texts, online resources and an infinitely growing volume of scientific literature.
For students and graduate students of biological and medical universities, as well as their teachers, it will be useful to high school students for a deeper study of the subject
