The training manual provides information on the role of chemical elements, their organic and inorganic compounds in biological systems of all levels - from cell to biocenosis. With the involvement of a large actual material, a review of the structure and transformations of bioorganic compounds (proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, nucleic acids, enzymes, hormones, etc), which underlie the vital activity of organisms representing all the kingdoms of nature.
A significant place in the book is the use of the achievements of biological chemistry in scientific research, in medicine, industry and agriculture. The theoretical sections of the training manual are supplemented by a workshop, which gives a description of the methods of studying the structure and functions of bioorganic compounds.
