This book is not a systematic course of optics and not even additional chapters to replenish the missed part of the elementary optics courses. The author selected some issues of applied optics, especially attracting inventors (both optics and representatives of other areas of science and technology, including chemists, doctors, biologists, military specialists), including questions about burning at a distance, about super-large increase in telescopes and microscopes. All considered problems are united by one common property: the impossibility of their implementation --- either absolute or temporary, but for a very long time. The purpose of the book is to direct the efforts of the inventors on the right path, warning about many dangers and allowing you to save time and effort that are sometimes spent on attempts to circumvent the basic laws of optics.
The book is recommended for physicists and engineers, inventors, students of natural and technical universities, as well as a wide circle of readers who are interested in physics and want to more deeply understand the basics of the general principles of optics
