Schooner that did not want to sail

The thirst for adventure has driven Farley Mowat, the author and hero of this book, throughout his life to the most daring, if not insane, undertakings. For example, buying a half-ruined schooner in a fishing village on the island of Newfoundland, somehow fixing it up, and setting off to sail the surrounding waters.
The schooner was named 'The Happy Adventure' because only the lucky star and boldness of the crew can explain the success of the whole enterprise. The schooner leaks, runs aground, gets stuck in ice, doesn't obey the helm, its engine breaks down more often than it works, and is generally at risk of exploding, but 'The Happy Adventure' and its crew consistently overcome all challenges.
These adventures are described with such humor and self-irony that the book will become a universal source of good mood - for all times and for any reader.
