The significance of the work of the largest representative of existential psychotherapy, the Polish psychiatrist of the 20th century, Anton Kempen, besides its undeniable scientific and historical value, is determined by his humanistic, simply human approach to patients. The doctor's understanding, kindness, and loving attitude towards the entrusted patient allowed him to uncover the secrets of the illness lying deep in the human psyche. The author views schizophrenia as a distortion of the hierarchy of values, which is one of the key aspects of the informational metabolism process occurring in the patient's body. He claimed that therapeutic work could lead to the formation of a healthy hierarchy of values, allowing the patient to interact with reality in a more balanced way. The book is addressed to specialists in the field of psychiatry, psychotherapists, psychologists, as well as to all those interested in works on mental disorders of personality.
