Under the unusual name of Luda, Lyudmila Makovskaya is hidden, in the marriage of Shnitzer (1913-2002), born in a Polish family in Berlin and since 1925. He lived in Paris. Luda considered the propaganda of Russian culture, and she also wrote books for children - retold fairy tales of different peoples and composed her own. The book "about strong and weak" included two fairy tales: "Savannah’s watchman" (Kenyan) and "rulers of forest" (based on folklore of South American Indians) The first fairy tale talks about the cunning leopard, who tried to take an important place for the watchman and the defender of the animals inhabiting the savannah, from bloodthirsty predators. But his insidiousness was discovered, and the Savannah’s guard became an honest, keen and incorruptible ostrich. In the second fairy tale, tiny, but numerous ants are measured by forces with large evil animals and easily win the dispute. On the pages of the book, juicy paints are raging - purple savannah, cyan jungle. Illustrations of marvelous beauty, a whole universe inhabited by graceful animals, was drawn by the artist David Khaikin (1927-2008) Unusual plots, exotic animals and the unconditional victory of the wise and kind over the insidious and evil will enjoy children of preschool and primary school age. The book is undoubtedly awaiting repeated readings and examination. It is recommended for children 4-7 years old
