In his new book, the outstanding scientist and thinker Valentin Katasonov talks about the most relevant topic in the life of modern Russia - what will the Western sanctions against the Russian Federation bring our country and our people? The author has a deep knowledge of this topic, based on the analysis of the economic and political situation in the world and Russia. He pays particular attention to, of course, B.B. Putin and his response measures to the sanctions of Western countries. Are these response measures enough, will Russia be able to avoid serious losses, will there be a sharp deterioration in the socio-economic situation in the country? The sanctions that began to be introduced against us in 2014 were not new. All this has already been. And the real "hell" sanctions began to introduce against Russia just a few months after October 1917. Then they were called blockades: sea, trade, credit, gold. These blockade reached the greatest intensity in the period 1918-1929. Later, in connection with the global economic crisis that began, the West could not support such an intensity, holes arose in the "Iron Curtain" (through which machines and equipment necessary for industrialization began to arrive in the USSR) The current sanctions of 2022 are already comparable in its stiffness with those that were a century ago. In a number of his materials, the author recalls valuable experience, which allowed us to survive in the conditions of the then cruel blockade. And not just to survive, but to become a powerful state. The lessons of the last century can be extremely useful in the current conditions!
