The sanctions imposed by the USA, the European Union, and other countries against Russia in 2014 were aimed at weakening the economy of our country. Initially, European and other Western companies were prohibited from economic cooperation with Russia, banks were denied loans for more than 90 days, and a long list of exports of modern technologies and components was also banned. The collective West responded to the military special operation that began on February 24, 2022, with an escalation of sanctions, seeking complete economic and political isolation of the Russian Federation. By mid-August 2022, seven packages of comprehensive anti-Russian sanctions were already in effect, which were and will continue to have a slowing effect on the Russian economy. At the same time, the sanctions, acting as a boomerang, reduce GDP growth in the European Union, increase inflation, and create other problems for the initiators of the anti-Russian sanctions. This publication is intended for students, postgraduates, and specialists, for all those interested in the socio-economic development of modern Russia.
