In our country there is a centuries-old tradition of reverending St. Spiridon, but only in April 2007, honest Draming of St. Spiridon, Bishop of Trimifuntsky was first delivered to Russia. In Moscow and eight Russian cities to worship the shrine, to ask for the Holy Assistance more than a million three hundred thousand people came, and the faith of those who came were not taken away. For Orthodox people, St. Spiridon has always been the ideal of holiness - "sad comforter", "siery defender", "an old doctor", "in the assistant"s assistant".
The connection of the Danilov Monastery with St. Spiridone did not end after the departure of the saints. The publishing house "Danilovsky Blagovetnik" has prepared a book telling about the life of St. Spiridon, about honoring it in Greece and Russia, about the features of his iconography, about numerous cases of his wonderful assistance.
Parting, we believed that the Holy would not leave the people who loving his people for a long time, would again visit us with their own settings, and did not be deceived in their expectations. 2010 was the year for us a year of a new meeting with the honored holy, and we again hope for his help and intercession
