Sergei Babushkin, the author of this guidebook, is an experienced tour guide with seven years of experience. The routes he has compiled range from 7.5 to 10 km - a distance that a pedestrian with a book in hand can cover in 3-4 hours. The walks will provide a comprehensive overview of St. Petersburg's architecture, from the Peter the Great era to the 1950s. The first four walks are dedicated to the historical part of the left bank of the Neva River. The next two cover Vasilievsky Island and the Petrograd side. The seventh and eighth routes go through the outskirts - Narvsky and Moskovsky districts. The final chapter offers the tourist several additional routes ranging from 1 to 4 km, including a visit to the Alexander Nevsky Lavra and the unique Petrogradsky district.
