Book N. Yu. Sukhova is a continuation of its monograph "System of Scientific and Theological Certification in Russia in the XIX - early XX century." (PSTU CPU, 2009) The first chapter draws attention to the European origins of the very idea and principles of scientific and pedagogical certification. Thus, the Russian spiritual school is inscribed in the history of European universities. In addition, in the monograph, a comparative analysis of the composition of scientists by degrees, awarded by Orthodox spiritual academies and schools of other denominations, operating in the territory of the Russian Empire in the XIX - early XX century. The second chapter is devoted to the study of a complex of theological dissertations, awarded scientists of theological degrees. The historical and statistical results of scientific andological certification make it possible to assess the overall scale of scientific andological activities, as well as to compare its fruitfulness in different temporary epochs and in different academies, identify the dynamics of development of this process. Of particular importance is the comparison of the statistical results of the system of scientific andological certification with the results of the scientific certification system, which operated in Russian universities. The thematic systematization of the doctor of doctoral and master"s thesis allows the priority directions in the Russian theological science of the XIX - early XX century. Analysis of the general research picture during the accounting of a church-historical context allows you to identify the connection of the subject of scientific research with the current problems of church life
