You are offered to your attention a book dedicated to the analysis of the views of outstanding Russian people of the late XIX - early XX centuries. On the device of society and world history. The sociological views of Russian thinkers of that time were very different from the postulates of Western sociology. First of all, because they approached an understanding of the driving forces of social development not from the standpoint of positivism, rationalism and materialism inherent in Western atheistic science, but on the basis of Christian ideas about the world, man, sense of individual and public life.
The book gives an analysis of the creative heritage of five Russian thinkers: Konstantin Leontiev, Lion Tikhomirov, Vladimir Solovyov. Sergey Bulgakov, Sergey Sharapova. They did not close their idea within the framework of narrow sociological science, their perception and understanding of society and history can be called metaphysical. At the same time, the indicated authors understand very differently and explain the phenomena and processes of public life.
The author of the book comes to the analysis of the creative heritage of the specified thinkers critically. Especially for the work of Vladimir Solovyov and Sergey Bulgakov. They are attributed to the School of "Russian Religious Philosophy", which, according to the author, was an eclectic compound of Orthodox teaching and Western atheistic philosophy. Speaking about Konstantin Leontyev, the author draws attention that he did not consider himself even a philosopher. But he possessed an amazing flaw and vision that allowed him to foresee many events of the 20th century. As for Lion Tikhomirov, his work "religious and philosophical foundations of history has still remains unsurpassed historiosophical research, in many ways superior to the well-known work of the Western historian A.Tunby" comprehension of history. Special place in the work is given to Sergey Sharapov, the representative of the Late Slavophiles. It is customary to relate to economists, but his understanding of the economy was based on a wider view of the society, which covered the state structure, local government, church-parish life, family relationships, foreign policy, etc. According to modern standards, it can be qualified as an economic sociologist
